No figure without a source

Journalism and research share this rule. If a figure is not in the note, with a place and a name, it is not in the bulletin.

That rule is how the desk stays a monitor. The slogan on the mast is a dare about truth. The card is how the dare is practiced.

An empty field on the card is an honest field. Filling it from memory is the misuse the practice says it is here to resist.
